Chet has been involved with the ICIMSS since its formative days, has sat on its Advisory Board since 1996, and taught its first course in October 1997. Chet teaches at the University of California at Berkeley Extension, School of Information Management Systems. He has also taught at the University of Denver Publishing Institute, and in several other educational efforts around the world, having to do with electronic publishing, the Internet, and changes resulting from distributed networks. He is currently heading up ICIMSS' Worldwide Web project.

In addition to his work in Central and Eastern Europe, accomplished under the auspices of the Poniecki Foundation, Chet is also an independent consultant, and works with publishers and libraries about their Internet strategies.

I'm extremely pleased to see the ICIMSS Worldwide Web project get off the ground. The Internet provides opportunities for organizations like ours to overcome some of the barriers of time and space, and to bring us closer together through a variety of networking services.

In launching the ICIMSS WWW project, I want to explore as many of the varieties of community-building techniques as possible. We expect to have online discussions, archived documents, databases of members, and a rich variety of informational pages by which you can find out what is going on at the International Centre for Information Management Science and Services in Torun, and take part in the many opportunities ICIMSS provides for professional enrichment and growth.
