Crafted (2021 - 2023)

The project aims to enrich Europeana with materials related to craftsmanship, including the currently functioning artisan's workshops. It is planned to add over 180,000 new records to Europeana and to enrich the descriptions of the 26,000 crafts records that already exist in Europeana. Crafts exhibitions, blogs and galleries on the Europeana website will also be prepared for promotion, and articles will be published.

Fourteen institutions are participating in the project: Coordinator: National Technical University of Athens, Greece and Partners: Michael Culture Association, Belgium; Stichting Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid, The Netherlands; European Fashion Heritage Association, Italy; Stichting Europeana, The Netherlands ; DATABLE BV, Belgium; AG Culturele Instellingen Antwerpen / Erfgoed, Belgium; Université du Luxembourg, Luxembourg; Mobilier national et manufactures nationales des Gobelins, de Beauvais et de la Savonnerie, France; Museum of Arts and Crafts, Croatia; The International Center for Information Management Systems and Services (ICIMSS), Poland; Fondazione Museo del Tessuto di Prato, Italy; Etablissement public Paris Musées, France; and National Documentation Center, Greece.

The task of our Association is to digitize 3,000 objects related to craftsmanship, to prepare a film on the production of stained glass as well as several galleries and blogs. Among the digitized collections there are historical and contemporary objects: stained glass, porcelain and artistic glass, as well as dolls and folk costumes. The galleries prepared so far were related to Easter, where, apart from the gallery, a blog devoted to decorating Easter eggs was prepared. Moreover, like all partners, we get involved in promoting the project.
